Crown Prince of Japan visits the Government House on his first official visit to Thailand (25/6/2012) The Prime Minister welcomed Crown Prince Naruhito on his first official visit to Thailand and took the opportunity to present a report on the status of the bilateral relations between Thailand and Japan and current progress of flooding prevention measures and water management in Thailand.

Today at 16hr00, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra took the honour of welcoming His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito and had a handshake in front of the Thai Khufah Building. The Crowd Prince was escorted to the Purple Room, Thai Khufah to withdraw diplomatic corps and senior government officials before invited to the outside portion of Ivory Room to sign a visitor’s book and visit the souvenir hall. Shortly after, the Prime Minister escourted the Crown Prince for a tea session in the inside portion of the Ivory Room where both had a discussion. The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude on the occasion of being granted an audience by His Imperial Highness Crown Prince of Japan. On behalf of all the Thai citizens, the Prime Minister gratefully wished Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako greatest happiness and healthiness. On this occasion, the Crown Prince expressed his interest in water management measures by the Thai government. The Prime Minister reported the progress of current water management and prevention efforts the Government was undertaking. In this connection, the Prime Minister has appointed Science and Technology Minister Plodprasop Surasawadee to present a report in detail to His Imperial Highness during his visit on Chao Phraya River on Tuesday, 26 June 2012.
